Overview

This role leads the global strategy, governance, and execution of media taxonomy and the data connectivity architecture that powers all downstream reporting, analytics, and operational consistency. You will define how taxonomy is structured, enforced, and evolved across all platforms, and you will partner deeply with the Data Tech Business Consulting (DTBC) team to ensure data flows cleanly and reliably across the ecosystem.

You will be responsible for the standards, tooling, automation, and operational processes that ensure media data is accurate, consistent, compliant, and analytics‑ready across all markets, clients, and teams.

Responsibilities

  • Own the global media taxonomy framework, including campaign structure, naming conventions, channel hierarchies, audience/segment vocabularies, creative metadata, markets/brands, test indicators, and compliance rules.
  • Create and maintain a global taxonomy playbook for all practitioners.
  • Standardize global QA processes to ensure complete, accurate, reliable media data.
  • Partner with DTBC and Activation teams to design how media data maps into standardized schemas.
  • Define how data flows between systems (APIs, ETL/ELT, cloud connectors, data pipelines) to ensure media and business data land cleanly in analytics environments.
  • Ensure taxonomy rules and data structures are consistently implemented across all media tools including ad servers, DSPs, platforms, tag managers and measurement systems.
  • Select and manage taxonomy, enforcement, and QA tools.
  • Build automated validation to identify violations and quarantine non‑compliant data.
  • Support platform migrations, new technology onboarding, and global process alignment.
  • Develop and deliver training and certification programs for global teams.
  • Ensure taxonomy and data capture align with privacy, consent, and ID requirements.
  • Maintain governance standards for brand safety, quality assurance, and system integrity.
  • Lead ongoing audits, diagnostics, and remediation plans.
  • Define compliance KPIs and develop dashboards to monitor taxonomy adherence and data quality.
  • Lead post‑mortems and maintain a backlog of taxonomy and tooling improvements.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in media operations, ad tech, marketing data governance, or digital analytics.
  • Deep experience in designing and enforcing media taxonomy and naming conventions across major platforms.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, schemas, IDs, lineage, validation, and data quality frameworks.
  • Experience leading global governance processes and partnering with cross‑functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear operational guidance.
  • Familiarity with Mediaocean/Prisma, clean rooms, modeling environments, and BI tools.
  • Experience building or contributing to a Center of Excellence for taxonomy, tagging, or marketing data governance.

Compensation (Text Only)

In order to comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, we believe the target range of base compensation in all locations within the United States for this role is $160 - $180,000 USD. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
