Overview

Assembly is seeking a visionary and results-oriented Sr. Director, Connected Partnerships to lead strategic investment and activation across the evolving landscape of Connected Digital Partnerships and Video media. This role is ideal for a senior media leader with deep expertise in negotiations, marketplace dynamics, and a comprehensive understanding of the digital direct partnership landscape as well as video ecosystem. Ideally have an understanding and knowledge from advanced digital platforms including CTV, OTT, OLV as well as display to traditional linear TV and be able to develop and execute comprehensive digital first partnership campaigns. 

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and hands-on operator who can seamlessly integrate digital first partnerships into broader media strategies, leveraging data, technology, and vendor relationships to drive performance and innovation. This includes managing partnerships across platforms, navigating the complexities of audience targeting, and ensuring seamless integration with other media channels. 

Responsibilities

Connected Video & Digital Strategy 

  • Lead the development and execution of integrated media strategies across direct activations of Video inclusive of Connected TV (CTV), OTT, linear TV, OLV digital display 
  • Lead investment strategy for all aspects of clients’ Video and Partnerships tactical execution, ensuring alignment with business objectives. 
  • Integrate Connected Digital Partnerships into holistic media plans, leveraging platform capabilities and audience data for precision targeting. 
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of the video marketplace, including Upfront, Scatter, Opportunistic buying, and emerging digital formats. 

Negotiation & Marketplace Leadership 

  • Lead negotiations across campaigns and agency marketplace engagements, securing optimal value and innovation. 
  • Maintain strong relationships with media vendors and platforms, with a clear technical understanding of their strengths and limitations. 
  • Work closely with media partners to structure packages that deliver performance and efficiency. 

Performance Optimization & Analytics 

  • Analyze live campaign results and make real-time optimization recommendations. 
  • Use empirical data to inform future buying cycles and improve outcomes. 
  • Communicate and troubleshoot changes related to tracking methodology with field and technical teams. 
  • Advise on how to integrate available metrics and platform products into broader media strategies. 

Client Partnership & Growth 

  • Serve as the senior media lead for assigned clients, fostering trust and long-term partnership. 
  • Lead the creation of all major media plans and presentations, translating complex concepts into actionable insights. 
  • Identify opportunities for organic growth and support new business initiatives. 

Team Leadership & Operational Excellence 

  • Manage and mentor a high-performing activation team (3+ direct reports), supporting career development and skill-building. 
  • Establish and refine processes for efficient campaign execution and performance analysis. 
  • Champion a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Experience & Expertise 

  • 8–10 years of media experience, including at least 3 years in interactive planning. 
  • 8+ years in media activation, planning, and analytics across digital, particularly experience in Video 
  • 6+ years of people management experience required. 
  • Diverse account background with omni-channel impact from awareness to direct response. 
  • PMD/FMP management experience. 
  • Extensive experience in direct digital investment planning and buying experience 
  • Ideally a strong understanding of Video Marketplaces (Upfront, Scatter, Opportunistic – Linear and CTV). 
  • Understanding of programmatic strategy experience (DMP, DSP, exchange). 

Communication 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in media plan presentations. 
  • Ability to present complex concepts and metrics in a clear, user-friendly manner. 
  • Strong client-facing presence and ability to build trust and credibility. 

Tools & Technology 

  • Proficiency with research tools such as Nielsen, VideoAmp, comScore, and ad serving technologies (e.g., DoubleClick). 
  • Ability to work with MS Office product suite, including exceptional PowerPoint and Excel skills; Access a plus. 
  • Familiarity with tracking methodologies and integration of platform metrics.

Compensation (Text Only)

In order to comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, we believe the target range of base compensation in all locations within the United States for this role is $140,000 - $170,000USD. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
