Overview

Assembly is looking for a Senior Associate, Video. The Senior Associate, Video role is the day‐to‐day steward on the business and is on the front lines of developing and activating both tactical and custom Video recommendations to meet our clients’ goals. The Senior Associate, Video will work cross-functionally with internal teams and vendors to develop and execute video platform media buys for one of our clients. The ideal candidate for this position is an agile, proactive, team player who is curious and open to the changing face of media buying through technological advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Media Planning & Buying
    • Develop and execute comprehensive national video media plans aligned with client objectives and budgets.
    • Negotiate, purchase, and monitor media inventory across the full video ecosystem: Linear to Digital – Broadcast to OLV
    • Analyze vendor proposals and media plans to ensure cost efficiency, GRP delivery, audience reach and added value
    • Execute scatter buy recommendations, manage upfront options/sell-offs, and negotiate test-and-learn opportunities.
    • Ensure campaign allocations align with planned flighting, spend, and GRP requirements.
  • Campaign Management & Execution
    • Oversee and mentor National Video Investment Associates in collaboration with senior leadership.
    • Communicate regularly with networks regarding scheduling, inventory, and makegoods.
    • Schedule ADUs (audience deficiency units) and post-out buys as needed.
    • Input and maintain updated inventory and ensure all systems (DDS, GRP charts, etc.) reflect current client requirements.
    • Develop creative rotation sheets for digital buys and coordinate with platform logistics for seamless execution.
    • Maintain special client-related projects such as marketplace updates and custom initiatives.
  • Reporting & Performance Tracking
    • Prepare and present a range of reports including tracking reports, Linear TV/CTV delivery, quarterly/annual post-buy analyses, and monthly spending summaries.
    • Monitor bi-weekly campaign performance to ensure delivery against KPIs and client/network guarantees.
    • Organize upfront data into summary documents (e.g., “Roll-Ups”) for internal and client distribution.
    • Analyze historical and in-flight data to inform future optimizations and media strategies.
  • Client & Vendor Relations
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with media vendors and internal cross-functional teams.
    • Keep clients and internal stakeholders informed on new opportunities, issues, or changes to campaign status.
    • Help facilitate and support client meetings by preparing materials and campaign updates.
    • Act as a liaison between clients, internal teams, and vendors, ensuring smooth communication and execution.
  • Team Collaboration & Strategic Support
    • Assist senior team members in developing investment strategies and tactical recommendations.
    • Ensure timely and accurate dissemination of campaign, client, and agency updates to the broader team.
    • Stay current on media, programming, and ratings trends, bringing new opportunities to the client and internal team.
  • Financial Management
    • Maintain and reconcile campaign budgets and billing throughout campaign lifecycles.
    • Partner with the Accounts Payable team to resolve billing issues and ensure accurate invoicing.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 2+ years of video media buying in an agency environment.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Deep understanding of national video channels including broadcast, cable, OTT, and digital.
  • Digital Partnership experience is a plus
  • Strong negotiation skills and familiarity with upfront/scatter market practices.
  • Proficient in media systems and tools such as Mediaocean OX, Prisma, Innovid, and Lake 5.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Compensation (Text Only)

In order to comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, we believe the target range of base compensation in all locations within the United States for this role is $61,000 - $75,000USD. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
